Howard Lederer grew up in New Hampshire. Howard was a young boy fascinated by the playing card and spent most of his youth playing with them. Lederer ‘s family played a big roll in his now profound career teaching him many card games at a young age one of them being poker. The drive to beat his father at poker was what excelled him to become the pro he is today. Without his father losing, than Howard might have never had the taste for winning. Rumor has it that Howard still believes that his father never threw a game purposely to his now Poker Superstar son. His goal of beating Dad stoked his competitive streak at a young age. To this day, Howard believes his father never intentionally lost a game to him. Whether his father lost on purpose or not has no bearing on the talent which Howard posses.

After moving to Las Vegas in 1993 Lederer’s skills for poker grew tremendously. In 2002 when world poker tournaments became a monthly occurrence, Howard decided that poker was the career he was going to choose. One thing that continues to push Lederer to the next level is the want he has for playing big buy in games. Howard is a very talented poker player and is not scared to face the worlds best. All the other poker players out there should look out for Howard Lederer because he has no fear when it comes to playing against the big dogs.
