Daniel Negreanu Pro Poker Player: The Toronto native is without question one of the hottest player hitting the tables these days. -- Daniel a.k.a. "Kid Poker" has been relentlessly winning over the past year. He was named player of the year by magazine “Card Player” in 2004. One of his most recent winnings was the Bellagio's Five Diamond World Poker Classic on the World Poker Tour which was good for $1,770,000 in prize money. Negreanu's style of playing resembles a character of his heritage. Both his parents are from Romania and the way Danny plays the tables you could call him “Dracula”. He does not give up and will try to suck the money from his opponents in a smooth sleek fashion. A high school drop out Danny knew at a young age what he was going to do with his life. He wanted to play poker and he wanted to be the best he could be. He was successful here at home but everyone knows that the big boys play in Vegas so away he went. His first attempt ended in vain and Danny was forced to return to Canada to regroup his efforts. After Negreanu spent a lot of time tedious studying the game and future opponents he was soon able to try once again out in Vegas. Dan’s time would come in 1999 at Foxwood’s World Poker Finals. His first WSOP came later that same year. Dan is a great guy who seems to have a heart of gold as most Canadians do .He is a man who fulfilled his dreams with hard work and determination. He has stuck with the game and soon began writing about his experiences. Negreanu, now aged 30 has became one of poker's brightest stars, and most respected players. He constantly plays in the biggest cash games and wins the most prestigious poker tournaments.
