If you want to see some poker legends then just take a trip to Binions Poker Hall of Fame. From Johnny Moss to Johnny Chan and even Jack Binion himself graces the walls at the Poker Hall of Fame.
World Series of Poker Hall of Fame

There are a few qualifications before a player can be inducted into the WSOP Hall of Fame. It was established in 1979 and developed a policy shortly after of inducting one player per year. This policy lasted until 1993.

Qualifications

• A player must have played a big tournament with known skilled players.

• The tournament must be for high stakes.

• The player must keep a consistency in their play and do well.

• The player must last over the ages in order to get inducted.

 
WSOP Hall of Fame Members

Felton “Corky” McCorquodale - Inducted: 1979

Known For: Introducing Hold’em to Las Vegas in 1963. He was also famous for being a very skillfull professional gambler.

Johnny Moss - Inducted: 1979

Known For: Winning three Hold’em titles 70, 71, 74. Johnny is one of the best players of all time and considered a true poker legend.

Red Winn - Inducted: 1979

Known For: Being a well rounded player He gained the respect of many well known players before his death.

Sid Wyman - Inducted: 1979

Known For: Co-owning the Sands and Riviera and The Old Dunes. Card games stopped for a moment of silence during his burial.

James “Wild Bill Hickok” Butler - Inducted: 1979

Known For: Being shot in the back while playing poker. He was holding aces and eights which is now known as the dead man’s hand. He was also a hero in American history during the civil war.

T. “Blondie” Forbes - Inducted: 1980

Known For: One of the best road gamblers traveling from place to place to play tournaments.

Bill Boyd - Inducted: 1981

Known For: Has won a WSOP bracelet and one of the best 5-card stud player pokers of all time. Respected by most if not all of his peers.

Tom Abdo - Inducted: 1982

Known For: Dieing while playing a game of poker. He thought he was going to finish the game after suffering a heart attack.

Joe Bernstein - Inducted: 1983

Known For: Being a sharp dressed man at the tables and also a very good all around poker player.

Murph Harrold - Inducted: 1984

Known For: Being a great Kansas City low ball player or the 2 -7 draw.

Red Hodges - Inducted: 1985

Known For: Being one of the best 7 card stud players of all time.

Henry Green - Inducted: 1986

Known For: Was a player that almost mastered the skills of all forms of poker.

Puggy Pearson - Inducted: 1987

Known For: 1973 WSOP Champion and aggressive poker playing style and a great 7 card stud player as well.

Doyle Brunson - Inducted: 1988

Known For: 1976, 1977 WSOP Champion and first to win a million in tournament play. Wrote what is considered The Bible of poker “The Super System.”

Jack Straus - Inducted: 1989

Known For: Jack ended up having a heat attack while playing in a tournament and died from it. He was also the WSOP Champion of 1982.

Fred “Sarge” Ferris - Inducted: 1990

Known For: A man who came from very little Fred was able to accomplish a great deal in the poker community.

Benny Binion - Inducted: 1990

Known For: : Starting the WSOP tournaments back in 1970 and owner of the Horseshoe. Was also a very skilled player in all forms of poker.

Chip Reese - Inducted: 1991

Known For: Establishing a life in Las Vegas from playing poker in the biggest cash games in town. Also the youngest player to be inducted.

Amarillo “Slim” Preston - Inducted: 1992

Known For: A poker player from Texas who is the 1972 WSOP Champion.

Jack Keller - Inducted: 1993

Known For: 1984 WSOP Champion and very consistent in his poker.

Julius Oral Popwell - Inducted: 1996

Known For: "Little Man" Popwell was known for competing against big players like Johnny Moss and Henry Green.

Roger Moore - Inducted: 1997

Known For: Moore is a great poker player who has played a few WSOP events against some great players like Johnny Moss and Henry Green. He has not missed a WSOP Tournament since 1974.

Stu Ungar - Inducted: 2001

Known For: Three time WSOP Champion- many world class players have dubbed Stu the greatest Hold’em player of all time.

Lyle Berman - Inducted: 2002

Known For: 1992 WSOP Champion Lyle is skilled in the most forms of poker also an Omaha and Stud Champion.

Johnny Chan - Inducted: 2002

Known For: Being a WSOP Champion three times along with seven other WSOP braclets. A young player who quickly earned the respect of his peers because of his take on anyone style. Johnny is a force to be reckoned with and can never be counted out.

Bobby Baldwin - Inducted: 2003

Known For: Bringing a classy style to the table. A WSOP Champion in 1978 and a player who is known to stay on top of the game.

Berry Johnston - Inducted: 2004

Known For: 1986 WSOP Champion and most cashes by 2004.

Jack Binion - Inducted: 2005

Known For: Jack the son of Benny Binion helped establish the horseshoe with his father which started the WSOP Tournament in 1970.

Crandell Addington - Inducted: 2005

Known For: Being one of the top contenders from 1963 to the mid 80’s some would say that Crandell was a poker Legend.
